Saturdays, August 8 and 22 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
We invite you to take part in a two-session experiential workshop on August 8 and 22, led by Celeste Mayorga, which will activate the works in her exhibition El fuego que nos une [The Fire That Binds Us]. This will be a space to collectively explore how our identities are shaped.
Throughout the workshop, we will explore bodily and sensory memory, as well as the ways our identities are shaped by the territories we inhabit or have inhabited. Political art, dance, traditional music, the Maya worldview, and therapy will serve as tools for energetic support, joy, and liberation.
At the end of the workshop, we will gather for a shared meal. Bring your mat, shawl, or petate; plenty of drinking water; candles, if your heart feels called to bring them; your instruments; a notebook; and something delicious to share with everyone. Las recetas de la abuela Maruca will provide handmade mole made with cacao and love.
Reserve your place by completing this form.
The deadline to submit the form is August 4. Your participation will be confirmed once you receive our confirmation message.
