PROGRAM — CLASSES & WORKSHOPS
Drawing Workshop: Fantastic Creatures
Trinidad Metz Brea
Myths, legends, and tales of the supernatural speak to us about the unknown, otherness, the things we fear, and also the things we desire.
In this drawing workshop, we will explore the figure of the chimera—a being composed of parts of others—as a starting point to reflect on hybridity, the monstrous, and the fantastic.
Through individual and collective drawing exercises, we will fragment and recombine bodies to imagine and create new creatures. We will also discuss the place monsters occupy in our stories: What do they represent? What do they embody? What do they reveal about ourselves?
An invitation to draw, combine, and create new forms through the fantastic.
