The Museo de Arte y Diseño Contemporáneo (MADC) is now accepting applications for its 2025 International Fund, offering artists, curators, and contemporary art researchers from Costa Rica the chance to develop a research residency at La Nueva Fábrica in Antigua Guatemala.
The recipient of the International Fund will undertake a four-week residency at La Nueva Fábrica in September – October of 2025. The fund is open exclusively to Costa Rican artists, curators, or researchers working in contemporary art.

- Financial grant: ₡1,000,000 (one million Costa Rican colones).
ELIGIBILITY
- Open to new proposals from artists, designers, art historians, curators, philosophers, sociologists, anthropologists, and researchers from other disciplines interested in contemporary art practices. Applicants must be Costa Rican citizens and over 18 years old.
- A degree in art is not required.
- Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to their artistic practice and a willingness to engage with the local community in Guatemala.
- MADC and LNF welcome people of all backgrounds and do not discriminate based on age, gender, religion, marital status, color, race, disability, or sexual orientation.
- Past recipients of this fund are not eligible to apply again for the same award
