Hangar, in collaboration with La Nueva Fábrica and with the support of the Institut Ramon Llull, announces the open call for a one-month research residency at La Nueva Fábrica. This residency offers one artist based in Catalonia a four-week research residency in July 2026 and a unique opportunity to engage with the artistic and cultural scene of Antigua.

Commitments
— To deliver a public presentation of the research at Hangar after the residency;
— To submit a final report (maximum 1,000 words and 2 images) on the project and an evaluation of the residency within one month of its completion;
— To include the logos of the following organizations in all project communications: Hangar, La Nueva Fábrica, Institut Ramon Llull. If it is not possible to include the logos, the following text must be added: Developed during a residency at La Nueva Fábrica, organized by Hangar with the support of the Institut Ramon Llull.

Terms and conditions
The selected person will receive:
— Fee: €2,000 (gross), of which €500 is estimated for living expenses and €500 for research-related expenses.
— Round-trip economy-class airfare between Barcelona and Guatemala City, including travel insurance, up to a maximum of €2,000, arranged by Hangar.
— Transfer from La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City to Antigua (round trip).
— Accommodation, workspace, and mentorship for the full duration of the residency.

Timeline
Application period: from December 3 to February 2, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (GMT+1).
The results of the selection process will be announced at the end of February 2026.
Residency period: four weeks in July 2026.
