    HOLDING THE BODIES

Maya Juracán, Rossina Cazali y Sandra Morán

    27 JUN, 2026

    Saturday, June 27, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This conversation brings together women whose trajectories have profoundly transformed the fields of art, memory, activism, and political participation in Guatemala. The discussion will feature Rossina Cazali, recognized as one of the most influential curators of the postwar period, whose work has accompanied artistic processes, archives, and critical reflections on memory, territory, and historical justice; alongside Sandra Morán, who paved the way as the first openly lesbian woman to hold a seat in the Congress of the Republic, while sustaining a lifelong trajectory marked by political resistance.

The conversation will be moderated by Maya Juracán. More than a biographical dialogue, this gathering proposes a reflection on memory, democracy, feminisms, and the challenge of transforming spaces historically shaped by patriarchal structures. Together, we will consider what lessons these generations of women leave behind and what futures can be imagined through collective action.
