“An altar, a living space, a tribute to our bodies, an effort to make ourselves visible and claim our right to live free bodies, in dignity and autonomy.“
From a critical reflection and practical exercise of community curatorship Sophia Arrazola, director of Mi Calle, Nuestra calle proposes to reflect collectively with the women participants of the workshop “Embroidering futures and autonomies” that inhabited the space of La Nueva Fábrica for more than 6 months, with a process of formation of human rights for the conquest of women’s autonomies; using drawing and embroidery of self-portraits as a medium, about the meanings that society has given to our bodies over time, in a cycle of visualization, seeking to identify the memories, secrets and stories that hold our bodily territories and how to liberate them to build new futures.
