La Nueva Fábrica is pleased to announce the launch of the open call for our 2024-2025 residency program, with a focus on community projects. For this edition, La Nueva Fábrica has the support of the 2023 Ama Amoedo Foundation Grant.
The objective of this call is to expand access to La Nueva Fábrica’s residency program through an open call for Central American citizens who live and work in the region and who either: are in a situation of vulnerability due to gender, racial, or other social discrimination; live in rural, remote, or underserved areas; whose first language is not Spanish–such as: Q’eqchi’, Tz’utujil, Kaqchikel, Garífuna, et al.
If you have an idea for a community-based visual arts project, we encourage you to apply! Artists, curators, or cultural practitioners with preliminary or early-stage community-based projects are also welcome to apply.
For the 2024-2025 cycle, the jury is composed of two members of the La Nueva Fábrica team, plus three independent jurors with extensive experience in critical curatorial methodologies, community art, and/or social impact: Valeria Leiva, Catalina Tenorio Vargas, and Diego Ventura Puac-Coyoy.
