    Museo de Becal Campeche

    6 NOV - 17 NOV, 2022

This exhibition is based on the social, environmental, and historical study of our surroundings. The Maya culture contributes interesting perspectives, incorporating wisdom in plant management and living harmoniously with the environment. The exhibition explores various concepts based on symbolism, language, culture, and the history of this land that unites us. “The roar of the jaguar will transcend borders, the quetzal will soar above us, geopolitics will not dictate the steps of culture; instead, our culture will connect us.”

In the production, various mediums are implemented, such as oil on canvas, traditional clay sculpture extracted from caves, pieces made of Jipi and Japa fibers, video art, photographs, and installation.

The chosen mediums are part of the traditional art produced in the culture of Campeche, offering a contemporary perspective on the situations and reflections involved in creating art in southern Mexico.
