Embroidery Workshop: Embroidering So We Don’t Forget
Sussie Mejía (Lola Santos)
A photo-embroidery workshop held as part of the celebration of All Saints’ Day. The workshop begins with a simple yet deeply meaningful idea: remembering through our hands.
Each participant will work with a photograph of a loved one who is no longer physically with us, using thread and stitches to transform it into a personal piece of memory.
During the workshop, we will learn the technique of embroidery on paper, exploring stitches, color, and composition, while allowing ourselves to engage with memory from a creative and sensitive place. More than learning a technique, we seek to create an intimate space of connection, where embroidery becomes a gesture of affection, presence, and permanence.
Because some people leave us, but there are memories we continue to hold with our own hands.
Don’t forget to bring a photograph of your loved one.
